John Kapel

John Kapel (1922-2023) was an American designer-craftsman who worked out of Northern California. In the late 1950s and 60s he designed a celebrated line of solid walnut case pieces for Glenn of California, known for sculpted wooden pulls and softly rounded edges. Alongside his production work he made studio furniture and sculpture, and his designs are closely tied to the California craft movement.
