Frequently Asked Questions

How does the tilting backrest mechanism function on these Kai Kristiansen chairs?

The backrest pivots on subtle metal pins concealed within the frame side rails, allowing the cushion angle to adjust automatically as you shift position during meals.

What distinguishes Brazilian rosewood from teak in mid-century dining furniture?

Rosewood features a deeper dark chocolate to reddish-brown coloration with striking, high-contrast grain lines, making it significantly rarer and more sought-after by collectors than standard teak.

Are these chairs sold in complete sets or individually?

This specific listing features an intact set of eight matching frames, which is extremely rare for vintage rosewood pieces from the 1960s.

Can I arrange to view these chairs in person before making a purchase?

Yes, you can schedule an appointment to inspect the chairs at our Berkeley showroom or request additional close-up photos and video walkthroughs from our team.

What is the standard lead time for nationwide freight shipping?

Domestic white-glove transit typically takes between two and four weeks, depending on your location, with full insurance and inside placement included.
